An awareness chariot was flagged off from Barachatti block headquarters in Gaya district on Saturday with the aim of making Bihar free from bonded labor. This campaign is a joint initiative of the Labor Resources and Migrant Workers Welfare Department and the Child Labor Eradication Campaign, in collaboration with the organization Center Direct.

MLA Jyoti Manjhi of Barachatti Assembly constituency and Block Development Officer Abhishek Kumar Ashish jointly flagged off the awareness chariot. This chariot will travel to various panchayats and villages within the Barachatti block, educating people about bonded labor, child labor, and the rights of workers. It will also provide information about relevant government schemes aimed at eradicating these social evils.

On this occasion, MLA Jyoti Manjhi emphasized that public awareness is the most effective means to eliminate social evils like bonded labor. She urged people to actively participate in this campaign and raise awareness among those around them. Block Development Officer Abhishek Kumar Ashish appealed to the public to immediately report any instances of bonded labor or child labor to the administration so that appropriate action can be taken against the culprits.

The event was attended by MP representative Guddu Kumar Manjhi, departmental officials, representatives of Center Direct, and other dignitaries. The primary objective of this campaign is to raise awareness among people about the abolition of bonded labor, prevention of child labor, and promotion of safe and dignified employment, thereby contributing to a truly bonded labor-free Bihar.
