In a significant move to enhance healthcare services in the Brahmpur region of Gorakhpur, the health department has increased the deployment of doctors. The Barhi Community Health Center (CHC) has received four new doctors, while the Primary Health Center (PHC) Brahmpur has been assigned three doctors. Notably, Dr. Shivani Kharwar, a female physician, is among the new appointees, which is expected to provide much-needed relief and local access to check-ups and treatment for women, especially pregnant patients.

At Brahmpur PHC, Dr. Onkar Dwivedi, Dr. Siddhant Sarraf, and Dr. Shivani Kharwar will be offering their services. The increased number of doctors is anticipated to ensure timely medical consultation and treatment for patients visiting the OPD. Similarly, the Barhi CHC has seen the deployment of Dr. Siddhant Sarrafa, Dr. Omkar Dwivedi, Dr. Sushma Kharwar, and Dr. Shivani. These appointments are expected to provide better local treatment for patients from surrounding rural areas.

According to the health department, under the Pradhan Mantri Matritva Surakshit Abhiyan, pregnant women will have access to check-ups and treatment on the 1st, 9th, 16th, and 24th of every month. On these specific dates, Brahmpur PHC will offer health check-ups, essential advice, and treatment services for pregnant women, reducing the need for rural women to travel to distant health centers for routine examinations.

There has been a long-standing demand for improved healthcare facilities and adequate doctors in the rural areas. Due to the shortage of doctors, patients often had to seek treatment elsewhere. The new appointments by the health department are thus considered a welcome step by the villagers. Several residents, including Sanjay Dwivedi, Vishal Dwivedi, and Pramod Chaurasia, have welcomed the deployment of doctors, expressing hope that it will strengthen health center services and boost patient confidence.
