A delegation from the BSC Teachers' Association recently met with the new District Education Officer (DEO) to present a memorandum outlining various long-pending issues faced by teachers. The association specifically demanded the immediate payment of long-due arrears, the timely updating of service books, and the resolution of several other administrative problems.

During the meeting, association members informed the DEO that many teachers have not received their salary arrears for an extended period, leading to significant financial hardships. Furthermore, the failure to update service books has created obstacles in teachers' promotions and other service-related benefits. The association urged the DEO to address these issues on a priority basis.

The delegation also highlighted other concerns, including the simplification of transfer policies, greater transparency in leave rules, and the expansion of health facilities for teachers.
