Eight teachers were injured, two critically, in a severe road accident on the Churammanpur fourlane in Buxar district on Monday. The incident occurred when a speeding car collided with an auto-rickshaw carrying teachers to various schools in Simri block. The accident took place near a new petrol pump in Churammanpur.

According to eyewitnesses, a black car, traveling at high speed, struck the auto-rickshaw from behind, causing it to overturn. The collision was so intense that the auto lost control and flipped. Following the accident, cries of distress filled the air. Nearby shopkeepers, villagers, and passersby immediately rushed to the scene, rescuing the trapped teachers from the overturned auto. Local residents provided first aid, and with the help of other drivers, the injured were swiftly transported to Buxar Sadar Hospital.

The injured include teachers Aparna Kumari, Sonam Kumari, Seema Kumari, and Anshika from Bi High School, along with teacher Harendra Ram from Middle School Khairapatti and three other teachers. All the injured have been admitted to Buxar Sadar Hospital for treatment. Doctors reported that while some sustained serious injuries, everyone's condition is currently stable. Injured teacher Harendra Ram stated that he was on his daily commute from Buxar to a school in Simri block when the accident occurred. The incident also caused a temporary disruption in traffic on the fourlane, which was managed by the prompt actions of local residents.
