Ritesh Kumar Singh, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Revelganj, was seriously injured in a stone-pelting incident in Chhapra, Bihar, on Friday evening. The incident occurred in the Khanua area of Chhapra city amidst a tense atmosphere, where administrative and police officials were attempting to control the situation. A stone struck BDO Singh directly on the head, causing severe injuries.

He was initially taken to a local hospital, but due to the gravity of his head injury, doctors referred him to a hospital in Patna for specialized treatment. In Patna, doctors successfully performed surgery on his head. According to hospital sources, BDO Singh's condition is currently stable, though he remains in a sub-conscious state. A team of doctors is continuously monitoring him, and the next few days are considered crucial for his recovery.

The stone-pelting began around 4 PM on Friday. The police and administration have launched an investigation into the incident to identify those involved and ascertain the circumstances that led to the sudden escalation and stone-pelting. The successful surgery and stable condition of BDO Ritesh Kumar Singh, despite the severe injury, have brought a measure of relief.
