Katihar: The Congress party staged a protest in Katihar against the alleged 'purification' of the stage after All India Congress Committee (AICC) National President Mallikarjun Kharge's program in Haldwani. The protest was organized by the District Congress Committee on Friday at Shaheed Chowk, led by District Congress Committee President Sanjay Kumar Singh. A large number of party leaders and workers participated in the demonstration.

Addressing the protest, District Congress President Sanjay Kumar Singh stated that the alleged purification of the stage after Mallikarjun Kharge's speech in Haldwani is not merely an insult to Kharge, but also an attack on the fundamental spirit of the Constitution and social equality. Singh emphasized that there should be no place for caste discrimination and untouchability in the country. He added that this incident raises serious questions about equality and rights.

The Congress demanded strict action, including the registration of a case under legal provisions, against those involved in the alleged purification of the stage in Haldwani. Singh linked the incident to the dignity of the Dalit community, stressing the importance of protesting such occurrences. During the demonstration, Congress workers loudly chanted slogans against the incident, advocating for social equality and the protection of the Constitution's core principles.
