On the anniversary of the Quit India Movement, the District Congress Committee in Gopalganj organized a tricolor march on Sunday. Led by District Congress Committee President Om Prakash Garg, the march commenced from the District Congress office and proceeded through the city's main roads to the Shaheed Smarak (Martyrs' Memorial).

Activists, holding tricolor flags, paid homage to the immortal martyrs of the freedom struggle and offered flowers at the memorial. On this occasion, District President Om Prakash Garg highlighted the significance of the Quit India Movement. He stated that on August 9, 1942, Mahatma Gandhi had called for this movement against British rule, giving the nation the mantra of 'Do or Die'.

Garg emphasized that this movement was not merely against British rule but was a historic mass movement for the country's freedom, self-respect, and democratic consciousness. He urged the current generation to protect the Constitution, democracy, social justice, equality, and fraternity. Garg also stressed that Congress workers would continue to raise their voices strongly to protect democratic institutions, the Constitution, and civil rights. During the march, patriotic slogans like 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Mahatma Gandhi Amar Rahen' resonated through the air.
