In Bhatpar Rani Nagar Panchayat, Deoria district, Councillor Monu Singh has launched a hunger strike against illegal encroachment. He is demanding the removal of encroachments from the main roads of his ward to facilitate smooth traffic flow. His action has caused a stir within the Nagar Panchayat administration and local departments.

Monu Singh has been on an indefinite hunger strike for the past two days. He alleges that despite repeated complaints, the municipal administration and concerned officials have failed to take concrete action against encroachers. He has taken this drastic step in protest against what he calls administrative indifference.

As soon as Councillor Monu Singh began his hunger strike, local residents, youth, and traders started gathering at the protest site. Citizens unanimously stated that an encroachment-free city is everyone's right and expressed their full support for the councillor's initiative. People have warned that if the Nagar Panchayat administration and Tehsildar's office do not jointly launch an anti-encroachment drive soon, the movement will spread across the entire town. This issue has become a major concern for local residents, as road encroachments disrupt traffic and affect daily life.
