A daylight burglary occurred at a locked house in Barh town, Patna district, specifically in front of Hanuman Market in Kajichak. The incident, which took place on Saturday, saw thieves break into the house and make off with jewelry, cash worth lakhs of rupees, and other valuable items.

The victim, Savita Devi, stated that she was at work at NTPC at the time of the incident, and her daughter and son-in-law had gone to the market for medicine, leaving the house unoccupied. Around 11 AM, the burglars forced entry into the locked house. They broke the locks of trunks and boxes, stealing gold and silver jewelry, bronze utensils, and approximately 40,000 rupees in cash. According to the victim, important land documents kept in a box were also stolen. After the heist, the thieves ransacked the house, scattering belongings and clothes.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Barh police arrived at the scene, inspected the site, and questioned family members. A case has been registered against unknown thieves. Police are currently examining CCTV footage from the vicinity and have launched a search for the culprits. Local residents have expressed serious concern over the increasing number of theft incidents in the area, urging the police to expedite arrests and increase patrolling to restore a sense of security among the populace.
