Katihar police administration is fully alert to ensure the peaceful celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. In view of the festival to be celebrated on Wednesday, a flag march was carried out on Tuesday in various areas of the city under the instructions of Superintendent of Police Parichay Kumar. The main objective of this march was to assure people of their safety and to convey the message of celebrating the festival in an atmosphere of peace and brotherhood.

The flag march was led by Katihar Sadar SDPO Vishal Anand, with a large number of police personnel participating. Policemen marched on foot, surveying the major and sensitive areas of the city. The flag march started from the Nagar Police Station premises and passed through several important routes including New Market, Bata Chowk, Hardayal Chowk, Durgasthan Chowk, DS College Road, Mahmood Chowk, and MG Road.

SDPO Vishal Anand stated that maintaining law and order during the festival is the top priority of the police. He clarified that any kind of rumor, anti-social activity, or attempt to disturb peace will not be tolerated. The police appealed to citizens to celebrate the festival peacefully and not to pay attention to any rumors. Additionally, they advised against sharing misleading or objectionable content on social media.

According to the administration, security arrangements will be tightened at major squares and sensitive areas of the city during the festival. Along with the deployment of police forces, all necessary preparations have been made to deal with any untoward situation. Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated on Wednesday, and on this occasion, a procession will be taken out from DS College to Town Hall. The administration has imposed a complete ban on the use of DJs during the procession.
