A major accident was narrowly averted in Bhatpar Rani, Bihar, on Wednesday afternoon when an electricity pole suddenly collapsed in the middle of a busy road. Several pedestrians passing by miraculously escaped serious injury. The incident occurred in the bustling market area of Bhatpar Rani, causing a loud crash and panic among the local populace. Fortunately, no one sustained severe injuries, but the event has brought to light the deteriorating condition of the electricity infrastructure in the region.

Local residents reported that the pole had been in a dilapidated state for a considerable time, and there had been ongoing demands for its replacement. Despite repeated notifications to the electricity department, no action was taken. Following the incident, significant anger was expressed by the locals towards the electricity department. They alleged that such incidents are frequent due to the department's negligence, posing risks to life and property.

Upon receiving information about the collapse, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of the electricity department arrived at the scene to assess the situation. The SDO assured residents that the fallen pole would be repaired promptly, and electricity supply would be restored. He stated that the department is taking the matter seriously and will implement appropriate measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. However, local residents are not satisfied with mere assurances and are demanding concrete action to ensure their safety.
