A farmer in Kewai village under Islampur block, Nalanda district, was critically injured after being electrocuted while irrigating his field. The incident led to his immediate admission to a private hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

According to reports, 55-year-old Arjun Prasad, son of Rambalak Prasad, a resident of Kewai village, was engaged in irrigating his field on Monday. During this activity, he accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire laid in the field, resulting in a severe electric shock. The jolt was so powerful that Arjun Prasad collapsed instantly and sustained serious burns. Onlookers rushed to his aid, cut off the power supply, and with the help of family members and local villagers, he was quickly transported to a private hospital in Islampur.

Doctors at the hospital immediately began treatment, noting the severity of his condition. A significant portion of his body was affected by the electric shock. While his condition is currently stable, doctors indicate he is not yet out of danger. This incident has caused concern among villagers, who have urged the electricity department to replace old wires and ensure safety standards are followed during power supply to agricultural fields. They highlighted that similar incidents have occurred previously, and without proper attention, more serious accidents could happen in the future. The farmer's family is in shock and praying for his swift recovery.
