A farmer was brutally murdered in Usmanpur village, under the Zarifnagar police station area of Badaun district, following a dispute over mobile phone installments. The incident occurred on Tuesday night around 10 PM when 50-year-old farmer Bhimsen was having dinner at his home. Ajit, a resident of the same village, arrived with a stick and attacked him. Bhimsen died on the spot due to multiple blows from the stick. Police have detained the accused, Ajit, and are interrogating him.

According to reports, Bhimsen's two sons work in Delhi, and he lived in the village with his daughter-in-law Meena. Approximately six months ago, Ajit had helped Bhimsen acquire a mobile phone on finance using his Aadhaar card. Bhimsen was responsible for depositing the installments into Ajit's account. For the past three months, the installments had not been paid, leading to finance company representatives visiting Ajit's house.

On Tuesday night, an argument erupted between the two over this issue. As the dispute escalated, Ajit attacked Bhimsen with a stick, resulting in his immediate death. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem. SP Rural Dr. Hridesh Katheria stated that the preliminary investigation indicates the dispute was over mobile installments. The accused, Ajit, has been taken into custody, and further legal action will be taken once a formal complaint is filed.
