Sonpur, Saran: A pall of gloom descended upon Sonpur in Saran district after news broke of a tragic road accident claiming the lives of four individuals, including a newlywed couple. The heartbreaking incident occurred late Wednesday night on the Patna-Chhapra four-lane highway near Shivpur under the Doriganj police station area.

The deceased include the newlywed couple from Sonpur, the groom's younger brother, and a friend. According to reports, Prince Kumar (22), son of Nagendra Rai, a resident of Shikarpur village under the Nayagaon police station area of Sonpur, had recently gotten married. On Wednesday night, Prince was returning from a wedding ceremony with his newlywed wife Nisha Kumari (20), younger brother Vikas Kumar (18), and friend Vishal Kumar (20).

Their motorcycle collided with an unidentified vehicle near Shivpur, leaving all four critically injured. With the help of locals, they were immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead. As the bodies arrived at their homes in Sonpur, a wave of mourning swept through the area. Family members were inconsolable, and the entire village was plunged into sorrow by the untimely demise of the newlywed couple. Police have taken custody of the bodies for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the matter. The incident has caused deep grief and anger in Sonpur, with residents demanding robust road safety measures from the administration.
