गढ़वा पुलिस की बड़ी कार्रवाई: 2021 लूटकांड का नामजद आरोपी बिहार के रोहतास से गिरफ्तार

गढ़वा पुलिस ने 2021 के एक चर्चित लूटकांड में फरार चल रहे नामजद आरोपी अतुल राय उर्फ अतुल प्रकाश राय को बिहार के रोहतास जिले से गिरफ्तार किया है। आरोपी बक्सर जिले के राजापुर थाना क्षेत्र अंतर्गत नौरंग राय के डेरा का निवासी है और उसकी उम्र 23 वर्ष है।
अनुमंडल पुलिस पदाधिकारी सत्येंद्र नारायण सिंह, श्री बंशीधर नगर पुलिस इंस्पेक्टर जितेंद्र कुमार आजाद, भवनाथपुर पुलिस इंस्पेक्टर गुलाब सिंह और केतार थाना प्रभारी अरुण कुमार रवानी ने एक प्रेस वार्ता में यह जानकारी दी। उन्होंने बताया कि 30 जुलाई 2026 को पुलिस अधीक्षक को गुप्त सूचना मिली थी कि केतार थाना कांड संख्या 11/2021 (दिनांक 12 फरवरी 2021, धारा 392 भादवि) का नामजद आरोपी अतुल राय रोहतास जिले के डेहरी स्थित तार बंगला मोड़ के पास किराये के मकान में रह रहा है।
इस सूचना के आधार पर, अनुमंडल पुलिस पदाधिकारी बंशीधर नगर के नेतृत्व में एक विशेष छापेमारी दल का गठन किया गया। टीम ने त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए आरोपी को गिरफ्तार कर केतार थाना ले आई। पूछताछ के दौरान अतुल राय ने घटना में अपनी संलिप्तता स्वीकार की और पुलिस को मामले से जुड़ी महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी दी।
पुलिस के अनुसार, यह घटना 12 फरवरी 2021 की दोपहर को केतार थाना क्षेत्र के खैरवा गांव के पास हुई थी। दो मोटरसाइकिलों पर सवार चार अपराधियों ने हथियार का भय दिखाकर एक फाइनेंस कर्मी से मोटरसाइकिल और मोबाइल फोन लूट लिया था। पीड़ित के बयान पर केतार थाना में मामला दर्ज किया गया था। अनुसंधान के दौरान तकनीकी साक्ष्यों और अन्य तथ्यों के आधार पर अतुल राय की संलिप्तता सामने आई थी।
पुलिस ने यह भी बताया कि इस मामले में पूर्व में कुंदन कुमार गुप्ता, दीपक पासवान और अमरजीत चौधरी को गिरफ्तार कर जेल भेजा जा चुका है। गिरफ्तार अतुल राय लंबे समय से फरार चल रहा था और पुलिस के अनुसार, वह आसपास के जिलों में हुई कई अन्य आपराधिक घटनाओं में भी शामिल रहा है। छापेमारी दल में अनुमंडल पुलिस पदाधिकारी बंशीधर नगर, पुलिस निरीक्षक भवनाथपुर अंचल, केतार थाना प्रभारी अरुण कुमार रवानी, अनुसंधानकर्ता चंदन कुमार साह और केतार थाना के सशस्त्र बल के जवान शामिल थे।

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Satyendra Narayan Singh, Shri Banshidhar Nagar Police Inspector Jitendra Kumar Azad, Bhavnathpur Police Inspector Gulab Singh, and Ketar Station In-charge Arun Kumar Rawani informed the media about the development. They stated that on July 30, 2026, the Superintendent of Police received a tip-off that Atul Rai, a named accused in Ketar Police Station Case No. 11/2021 (dated February 12, 2021, under IPC Section 392), was residing in a rented house near Tar Bangla Mor in Dehri, Rohtas district.
Based on this information, a special raiding team was formed under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Banshidhar Nagar. The team acted swiftly, apprehending the accused and bringing him to Ketar Police Station. During interrogation, Atul Rai confessed his involvement in the incident and provided crucial information related to the case.
The police further explained that the robbery occurred on the afternoon of February 12, 2021, near Khairwa village in the Ketar police station area. Four criminals on two motorcycles threatened a finance employee with weapons and looted his motorcycle and mobile phone. A case was registered at Ketar Police Station based on the victim's statement. Technical evidence and other facts revealed Atul Rai's involvement during the investigation.
The police also mentioned that Kundan Kumar Gupta, Deepak Paswan, and Amarjeet Chaudhary had been previously arrested and jailed in connection with this case. Atul Rai had been absconding for a long time and, according to the police, was involved in several other criminal incidents in nearby districts. The raiding team included the Sub-Divisional Police Officer Banshidhar Nagar, Police Inspector Bhavnathpur Circle, Ketar Station In-charge Arun Kumar Rawani, investigator Chandan Kumar Sah, and armed personnel from Ketar Police Station.
