Gopalganj district is set to witness a major infrastructure boost with the construction and upgrade of 104 rural roads. This initiative, undertaken by the Rural Works Department under the RRSMP (Rural Road and Social Mobility Project) scheme, aims to strengthen rural connectivity across the district. The project involves building and upgrading approximately 208.90 kilometers of roads, with an estimated cost of ₹201.82 crore. Technical approval for the detailed project report has been secured, and the proposal has now been sent for administrative approval. Once approved, the tender process will commence.

The new and improved road network is expected to significantly benefit rural areas in blocks such as Bhore, Hathua, Uchkagaon, Phulwaria, and Vijayipur. These roads will provide better connectivity between villages and main roads, markets, schools, hospitals, and block headquarters, thereby facilitating easier commute and boosting local economic activities.

Specifically, the proposal from the Rural Works Department, Hathua Division, includes an estimated cost of ₹181.29 crore for the construction and upgrade of 83 rural roads, totaling 189.01 kilometers. Furthermore, technical approval has been granted for 19 link roads in Vijayipur, Bhore, Uchkagaon, Hathua, and Phulwaria blocks, covering 10.82 kilometers at a cost of ₹9.81 crore. Proposals for two additional crucial roads in Phulwaria block have also been submitted.

The department's objective is to enhance accessibility in rural areas, streamline transportation, and accelerate the overall development of the region.
