A land dispute in Baikunthpur police station area of Gopalganj district escalated into a violent clash between two parties, leaving three people seriously injured. The incident occurred on Wednesday in Shivpur village, under Dighwa Dubauli Panchayat of Baikunthpur. Among the injured is a woman. All injured individuals have been admitted to a local hospital for treatment, where their condition is reported to be stable.

According to information, a long-standing dispute over land partition existed between Prabhunath Yadav and his neighbor Ramadhar Yadav, both residents of Shivpur village. On Wednesday, this dispute suddenly turned into a violent confrontation. Members of both parties clashed and attacked each other with sticks and batons. Prabhunath Yadav, his wife, and Ramadhar Yadav sustained injuries in the scuffle.

Upon receiving information about the incident, local police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. Police stated that initial investigations indicate the dispute is related to the partition of ancestral property. Police have recorded statements from both sides and are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. Strict action has been assured against the culprits. Villagers mentioned that both families are neighbors and have had minor disputes in the past, but this is the first time the matter has escalated to such an extent, leading to physical assault. Police have also deployed additional forces to maintain peace and order in the village.
