A tragic road accident in Gopalganj district resulted in the death of a 23-year-old BA student and left a young man seriously injured. The incident occurred on Sunday night near Ambedkar Chowk in the Nagar police station area when a passenger bus, driving on the wrong side of the road, collided with and crushed a motorcycle. The deceased student has been identified as Lakshmi Kumari, daughter of Rameshwar Prasad, a resident of Bhaisahi village under Manjhagarh police station, who was a BA student. The injured youth is identified as Vikas Kumar, who is currently undergoing treatment at Gopalganj Sadar Hospital.

According to eyewitnesses, the speeding bus came from the wrong side and suddenly collided with the bike. The impact was so severe that the bike was completely destroyed, and Lakshmi Kumari, who was riding it, died on the spot. Vikas Kumar was immediately rushed to the hospital with the help of locals, where his condition remains critical. Following the accident, the bus driver fled the scene.

Upon receiving information, the Nagar police reached the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it for post-mortem examination to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital. The police have seized the damaged bike and the bus. The police are investigating the matter and searching for the absconding bus driver. The incident has cast a pall of grief over the entire area, with the victim's family in deep distress.
