The Gopalganj district administration is on high alert due to the apprehension of potential floods. In light of this, District Magistrate Sameer Saurabh on Tuesday conducted a thorough inspection of various embankments and minor dams, including the Sarfara Dam and Dumaria Ghat. He meticulously reviewed the flood protection and disaster management preparedness.

During the inspection, the District Magistrate gathered detailed information on the current status of the embankments, identified vulnerable spots, assessed the drainage system, and evaluated the resources available for relief and rescue operations in the event of a flood. He issued clear instructions to concerned officials to ensure continuous monitoring of all embankments and potentially flood-affected areas in the district. Officials were directed to immediately report any signs of erosion, leakage, or damage to embankments to senior authorities, enabling timely necessary action.

The DM also instructed that all disaster management resources be kept ready at all times and that immediate relief be provided to affected individuals when needed. He emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination and urged officials to be fully prepared to tackle any challenges. According to the district administration, all major embankments, including Sarfara Dam and Dumaria Ghat, were found to be secure during the inspection. Currently, there are no reports of erosion, leakage, or damage to any embankment. The administration is continuously monitoring the potential flood situation and has appealed to the public not to pay heed to rumors. The administration's primary goal is to ensure the safety of lives and property during potential floods and to provide timely relief and assistance to those in need.
