A speeding truck lost control and collided with an electric pole on the Gopalganj-Mirganj bypass road on Sunday. The severe impact badly damaged the 11,000-volt high-tension line pole, leading to a prolonged power outage for the Lachhwar feeder, operated by the Mirganj power house. This disruption caused significant inconvenience to consumers in the affected areas.

Eyewitnesses reported that the truck was moving at a high speed and suddenly veered off course, crashing into the pole located on the roadside. Due to the severity of the collision, electricity supply was immediately cut off as a safety measure. Consequently, several villages and surrounding areas connected to the Lachhwar feeder experienced a complete blackout.

Upon receiving information about the incident, officials and personnel from the electricity department promptly arrived at the scene. They initiated urgent work to remove the damaged pole and install a new one. Departmental officials stated that power supply would only be restored after the new pole is securely in place and the electrical lines are safely reconnected. They urged local residents to maintain a safe distance from the electric poles and wires while the repair work is underway.
