A new block-cum-circle office and residential building, costing ₹14.40 crore, was officially inaugurated on Friday at the Goreyakothi block headquarters in Siwan. Local MLA Devesh Kant Singh launched the construction work, hailing it as a historic step towards strengthening the region's development and administrative system.

MLA Devesh Kant Singh became emotional on the occasion, recalling that his grandfather, the late Krishnakant Singh, had constructed the original block-cum-circle office building in Goreyakothi approximately 50 years ago. He expressed his fortune in getting the opportunity to construct the new building. Singh also mentioned that his father, the late MLA Bhumendra Narayan Singh, had made continuous efforts for modern administrative buildings in Goreyakothi, Lakri Nabiganj, and Basantpur, but approval could not be obtained at that time. Upon becoming an MLA, he resolved to fulfill this long-standing dream.

Singh revealed that he had written several letters to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Rural Development Minister to secure approval for the building's construction. Furthermore, he prominently raised the issue in the second, third, seventh, and ninth sessions of the 17th Legislative Assembly. He stated that Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar had assured the approval of the scheme in the current financial year, which is now materializing. According to Singh's personal assistant, Sonu Kumar, the construction will be overseen by the Building Construction Department, Siwan Division.

The event was presided over by BJP Mandal President Devendra Giri. Several public representatives and officials were present, including JDU leaders Amod Priyadarshi, Nikesh Tiwari, BJP District General Secretary Pramod Kumar Tiwari, BDO Abhay Kumar, CO Atul Kumar, Revenue Officer Sanjay Yadav, SHO Manish Kumar, In-charge Medical Officer Dr. Abhishek Kumar, Block Education Officer Nikku Sinha, Mukhiya Abhay Singh, Akhileshwar Tiwari, Vinay Giri, Parshuram Prasad, and Kuber Prasad.
