A significant meeting of the Goreyakothi Panchayat Committee was held on Monday at the block office auditorium, chaired by Pramukh Raziya Khatoon. The meeting focused on discussing development projects, various government schemes, and public issues within the block.

During the session, Panchayat Committee members highlighted problems from their respective areas and demanded their swift resolution. Information regarding the 16th Finance Commission was provided to the representatives, and discussions were held on selecting schemes under its purview. Members agreed to prioritize development projects based on the needs of the region. The issue of land selection for the construction of an Additional Primary Health Centre in Mustafabad was also raised. Members inquired about the status of the proposed Panchayat Sarkar Bhawan in Karnpura and Hetimpur panchayats, asking when construction would commence. The matter of Panchayat Sarkar Bhawan construction in Jamo Panchayat was also discussed.

Akhileshwar Tiwari, Mukhiya of Karnpura Panchayat, stated that the previously identified land for the Panchayat Sarkar Bhawan was insufficient, preventing the start of construction. He urged for prompt identification of adequate land to begin the building work. Allegations of irregularities in pond construction in Hetimpur Panchayat were also brought up, with members demanding an investigation and action against those found guilty. Public representatives emphasized the need for transparency in implementing development schemes.

The issue of private individuals collecting market fees in Pachpakadiya Pakri Bazaar was also a key point of discussion. Members noted that many shops in the block operate on government land. Circle Officer Atul Kumar responded by stating that notices would soon be sent to the concerned shopkeepers, and revenue collection would begin according to regulations. In Jamo Panchayat, the problem of sanitation was raised, with members demanding improvements in the cleaning system. Pramukh Raziya Khatoon instructed officials to efficiently carry out their departmental duties and avoid negligence in public interest works. The meeting was attended by BDO Dr. Abhay Kumar, CO Atul Kumar, and other public representatives and officials.
