A new Power Substation (PSS) is currently under rapid construction in the Harnaut block of Nalanda district. This will be Harnaut's sixth power substation, aiming to strengthen electricity supply in the region. The total cost of this project is ₹877 lakh. Construction is targeted for completion by December 2026, after which Harnaut and surrounding areas will receive improved and uninterrupted power supply.

The new power substation is expected to significantly alleviate issues of low voltage and frequent power trips. Currently, many rural areas within Harnaut block face persistent electricity problems, especially during peak demand periods or summer months. This new PSS will play a crucial role in mitigating these challenges. Its commissioning will reduce pressure on the existing grid and provide consumers with higher quality electricity.

Modern technology and equipment are being utilized in this project to ensure its efficiency and reliability. According to electricity department officials, all necessary steps are being taken to complete the construction within the stipulated timeframe. Once operational, this substation will also contribute to the economic development and improved living standards of the area, as reliable power supply is essential for agriculture, small industries, and households. This initiative is part of the Bihar government's broader plan to strengthen the state's power infrastructure.
