Police in Hisua, Nawada district, have arrested a wanted criminal who had been absconding for seven years. The arrested accused has been identified as Udesh alias Umesh Yadav, son of Brahmadev Yadav and a resident of Rupau Jailwa under Roh police station. He is accused under Section 395 (dacoity) of the Indian Penal Code.

The arrest is related to Hisua Police Station Case No. 347/19, which was registered on August 24, 2019, concerning a robbery. Since the incident, Umesh Yadav had been evading police capture, and a warrant had been issued against him by the court.

A special team, formed under the leadership of the Hisua Station House Officer, received confidential information that the wanted accused was hiding near his village. After confirming the information, the police team conducted a planned raid and took him into custody from the Rupau Jailwa area. During interrogation, the accused identified himself as Udesh alias Umesh Yadav and confessed his involvement in the 2019 robbery. According to the police, he was named as an un-named accused in the robbery that occurred in the Hisua police station area on August 24, 2019.

Following his arrest, the accused was produced before the court after completing necessary legal procedures and sent to judicial custody. Hisua police stated that a continuous campaign is underway to apprehend absconding criminals, and raids are ongoing to arrest the remaining fugitives. Police officials reiterated that criminals will not be spared under any circumstances, and no one will escape the clutches of the law.
