Islampur town experienced a much-needed heavy downpour on Wednesday morning, bringing significant relief from the oppressive heat and humidity that had plagued residents for several days. The rain was so heavy that within a short span, water accumulated on the roads. Major thoroughfares and low-lying areas witnessed waterlogging, causing minor disruptions to traffic. However, residents largely overlooked this inconvenience, welcoming the rain as a blessing. In some parts of the town, clogged drains exacerbated the waterlogging, leading to slow-moving traffic for a while.

This rainfall is also a boon for farmers, who were in dire need of water for paddy transplantation and other Kharif crops. Agricultural experts anticipate that this rain will be highly beneficial for crops, contributing to increased yield.
