A 19-year-old JEE aspirant, Satyam Jha, was found dead, hanging from a noose, in a private boys' hostel in Patna. The incident occurred on Saturday at the Diamond Boys' Hostel in Anandpuri, under the Srikrishnapuri police station area. Satyam's father, Sunil Jha, stated that due to the festival season, other hostel students had gone home, leaving Satyam alone. He had asked Satyam to come home too, but his son declined, saying his classes were scheduled to resume in two days.

According to the father, he called Satyam multiple times on Saturday morning, but his calls went unanswered. Concerned, he went to the hostel himself, where he found his son hanging. He then informed the police.

Upon receiving the information, police from Srikrishnapuri police station and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team arrived at the scene. The police have seized Satyam's mobile phone and are investigating it. Initial suspicions suggest that the student might have been blackmailed through Instagram or a dating app, though this has not been officially confirmed. FSL Senior Scientist Anil Kumar thoroughly inspected the crime scene. The police are investigating the case from all possible angles, and the clear cause of death will only be known after the investigation is complete.
