Mohania police in Kaimur district have achieved a significant breakthrough against cattle smuggling, rescuing 30 cattle and arresting four smugglers near the GT Road toll plaza. The operation was carried out following a tip-off, prompting the Mohania police team to act swiftly to prevent the illegal transportation of livestock.

According to police sources, the Mohania police station received intelligence that smugglers were illegally transporting cattle. A special team was formed under the leadership of the station house officer, and vigilance was intensified on GT Road. A suspicious vehicle was intercepted near the toll plaza, and upon inspection, a large number of cattle, including cows, oxen, and buffaloes, were found crammed inside. The animals were being transported under cruel conditions.

Police are currently interrogating the four arrested smugglers to uncover the full extent of the network. Investigations aim to determine the origin and destination of the cattle, as well as identify other individuals involved in the syndicate. Initial findings suggest that the smugglers intended to sell the cattle in neighboring states.

Mohania police confirmed that the rescued cattle have been moved to a safe location for veterinary examination. Cases have been registered against the arrested smugglers under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and relevant sections related to cattle smuggling. The Superintendent of Police commended the Mohania police team for their successful operation, affirming that the campaign against illegal smuggling will continue in the district.
