Acting on a tip-off, the Excise Department team conducted a major operation near Karmain More, seizing a large quantity of illicit liquor and mahua. According to information received, the department had intelligence regarding the manufacturing and sale of illegal liquor in the area, following which a special team was formed to plan the raid.

On Monday night, the Excise Department team cordoned off the area near Karmain More. A thorough search operation was carried out, resulting in the recovery of 859 liters of illicit country and foreign liquor. The seized liquor included bottles of various brands, with an estimated market value of lakhs of rupees. Along with the liquor, the team also confiscated 49 sacks of mahua, which is used in the production of illegal alcohol. This large consignment of mahua indicates that large-scale illegal liquor production was taking place in the region.

An Excise Department official stated that this action is part of the ongoing campaign against illegal liquor. He emphasized that the department is continuously active in enforcing prohibition and is keeping a close watch on elements violating the law. The official also mentioned that the seized liquor and mahua would be destroyed as per regulations, and further investigation into the matter is ongoing. However, no arrests were reported during this raid, leading to suspicions that the smugglers might have fled before the team's arrival. Police are now taking further action to identify and apprehend those involved in this trade. This successful raid will help curb the illegal liquor business in the area.
