In a significant crackdown, the Prohibition Department in Katihar district has seized a large consignment of foreign liquor and arrested four smugglers. Acting on a tip-off, the department's team intercepted a CNG tempo and recovered 75 liters of foreign liquor. The four individuals involved in the smuggling were arrested on the spot.

The Prohibition Department had received intelligence about a major liquor consignment being brought into Katihar. Following the information, the team intensified surveillance in potential areas. During this operation, a suspicious CNG tempo was spotted. The team stopped the vehicle and conducted a thorough search, leading to the discovery of 75 liters of foreign liquor bottles hidden inside.

All four smugglers involved were immediately apprehended. They are currently being interrogated to ascertain the identities of other members of the syndicate and the source of the illicit liquor. Officials from the Prohibition Department stated that this operation is a crucial step towards effectively implementing the liquor ban law in Bihar. They reiterated that the campaign against liquor smugglers will continue relentlessly, and no such attempts will be allowed to succeed.
