A special Lok Adalat will be organized on Saturday in Katihar under the aegis of the Katihar District Legal Services Authority. The primary objective of this Lok Adalat is the swift and effective disposal of pending cheque bounce cases (under Section 138 of the NI Act). According to information received, a total of 397 cheque bounce cases have been listed for hearing in this special Lok Adalat.

The Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority stated that this initiative will provide a significant opportunity for those who have been embroiled in legal disputes related to cheque bounces for a long time. Lok Adalats offer an effective platform for resolving disputes amicably, saving both parties time and money. In cheque bounce cases, there is often scope for compromise, and the Lok Adalat helps facilitate such settlements.

Judges, lawyers, and other legal experts will be present at this special Lok Adalat to assist in the resolution of cases. All necessary preparations for the speedy resolution of cases have been completed. The Authority has appealed to the concerned parties to take advantage of this opportunity and settle their cases. This will not only reduce the burden on the courts but also ensure prompt justice for the aggrieved parties. It is expected that this special Lok Adalat will successfully resolve a large number of cases.
