In a swift operation, Kishanganj police arrested two individuals from Naxalbari, West Bengal, within 24 hours in connection with a house burglary case in the Bahadurganj police station area. The accused had allegedly stolen gold and silver ornaments and cash from a house. Stolen jewelry, along with tools used in the crime such as a screwdriver, torch, and mobile phone, were recovered from their residences.

SDPO-1 Khushru Siraj provided details of the case. According to the police, Santosh Pradhan, a resident of Subhash Nagar, Bahadurganj, had locked his house and left with his family on October 13. Upon his return on October 14, he found the main gate and the locker in his room broken. Household items were scattered, and gold and silver ornaments and cash were missing. An FIR was registered at Bahadurganj Police Station.

Following instructions from Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar, a special team was formed under the leadership of SDPO-01. Based on site inspection and technical investigation, the team, with the help of Naxalbari police, arrested Mohd. Majid (42) and Mohd. Nazir (37), residents of Totaram Mohalla. Six gold-like ornaments, several silver-like ornaments, and other items were recovered based on the information provided by the accused. Both have been brought to Kishanganj on transit remand. Police stated that Majid has three theft cases and Nazir has one case registered against them at Naxalbari police station. The police are investigating their involvement in other house burglary incidents.
