In a significant crackdown against illegal sand mining, the administration conducted a special raid operation on Wednesday evening in the Bhuthi Balan river, under the Laukaha police station area of Madhubani district. Led by the District Mining Officer, the operation resulted in the seizure of two tractors involved in the illegal excavation and transportation of sand. During the inspection, officials discovered that one of the seized tractors lacked a number plate. Both vehicles were found to be illegally transporting white sand.

The District Mining Officer stated that a fine exceeding ₹1.09 lakh has been imposed on the owners of the vehicles for violating mineral rules. He further clarified that continuous campaigns would be conducted across the district against illegal mining and the illicit transportation of minerals, with strict legal action taken against offenders. This action by the administration has created a stir among those involved in illegal mining. The district administration has urged the public to immediately report any information regarding illegal mining or mineral transportation to the concerned authorities for timely and effective action.
