In Bhabua district, a major loss has been incurred by the electricity department due to a lightning strike late at night amidst changing weather patterns. The 33/11 KV power substation at Manihari, located to the east of Denwan village, suffered significant damage when lightning struck, completely damaging four electrical panels.

Following the damage to the panels, the power supply to several feeders connected to the substation has been disrupted, causing inconvenience to consumers in the affected areas. Power supply has been impacted in many regions linked to the Saidra, Kohari, Manihari, Dumraith, Karmichak, and Ratwar feeders. The sudden disruption in electricity supply is causing problems not only for domestic consumers but also for shopkeepers, small businesses, and other electricity users.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a team of electricity department officials and technical personnel became active. The department is inspecting the damaged panels and assessing the extent of the loss. Simultaneously, work is underway on alternative arrangements to restore power supply to the affected areas as soon as possible. The department has appealed to affected consumers to remain patient and cooperate with the departmental team during the repair work. The department has assured that efforts will be made to normalize the power supply to the affected feeders as soon as the technical work is completed.
