मधेपुरा जिले में टीबी उन्मूलन कार्यक्रम के तहत स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा चलाए जा रहे अभियान में उल्लेखनीय प्रगति हुई है। जिले में अब तक 1 लाख 15 हजार लोगों की टीबी (क्षय रोग) के लिए स्क्रीनिंग की जा चुकी है। इस व्यापक जांच अभियान के परिणामस्वरूप, 2,693 टीबी मरीजों की पहचान की गई है और उनका इलाज वर्तमान में जारी है।
स्वास्थ्य विभाग के अधिकारियों के अनुसार, टीबी मुक्त भारत अभियान के तहत जन जागरूकता बढ़ाने और मरीजों की शीघ्र पहचान सुनिश्चित करने पर विशेष जोर दिया जा रहा है। स्क्रीनिंग के दौरान, संदिग्ध लक्षणों वाले व्यक्तियों की बलगम जांच और अन्य आवश्यक परीक्षण किए जाते हैं। जिन मरीजों में टीबी की पुष्टि होती है, उन्हें तत्काल उपचार प्रोटोकॉल में शामिल किया जाता है।
इलाज के साथ-साथ मरीजों को पोषण सहायता भी प्रदान की जा रही है। अब तक 570 टीबी मरीजों को 'फूड बास्केट' उपलब्ध कराए गए हैं। इन फूड बास्केट में पौष्टिक खाद्य पदार्थ शामिल होते हैं, जो टीबी के इलाज के दौरान मरीजों के शारीरिक स्वास्थ्य को बनाए रखने में मदद करते हैं और उनकी रिकवरी में तेजी लाते हैं। पोषण सहायता कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य यह सुनिश्चित करना है कि मरीज दवाओं के साथ-साथ उचित आहार भी प्राप्त करें, क्योंकि कुपोषण टीबी के मरीजों के लिए एक बड़ी चुनौती होती है।
स्वास्थ्य विभाग ने यह भी बताया कि जिले के दूरदराज के इलाकों में भी स्क्रीनिंग शिविर आयोजित किए जा रहे हैं ताकि कोई भी संभावित मरीज जांच से वंचित न रहे। सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य कार्यकर्ताओं और आशा कार्यकर्ताओं की भूमिका इस अभियान में महत्वपूर्ण है, जो घर-घर जाकर लोगों को टीबी के लक्षणों और उपचार के बारे में जानकारी दे रहे हैं और उन्हें स्क्रीनिंग के लिए प्रेरित कर रहे हैं। विभाग का लक्ष्य जिले को जल्द से जल्द टीबी मुक्त बनाना है।
