In a significant operation conducted under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, a man was arrested with 15 liters of Mahua liquor in the Dumaria police station area of Gaya district on Wednesday. Acting on a tip-off, police raided a location and apprehended the individual red-handed. The arrest highlights the police's proactive measures to curb the illegal liquor trade in the region.

According to police sources, the Dumaria police station received credible information about the sale and manufacturing of illicit liquor on Wednesday morning. A special team was immediately formed under the leadership of the Station House Officer, and a swift raid was carried out at the identified location. During the raid, a suspect was caught illegally storing and selling Mahua liquor. A total of 15 liters of Mahua liquor, stored in plastic cans, was seized from his possession.

The arrested individual is currently being interrogated to identify other individuals involved in this illegal business and to uncover the wider network. Police believe that this person might be part of a local liquor supply chain. Bihar has a complete prohibition on alcohol, and strict legal action is provisioned for its violation, including arrest and severe penalties under the Prohibition and Excise Act.

Local residents have welcomed the police action, stating that illegal liquor leads to various social problems, including crime and domestic disputes.
