A tragic train accident near Tedha Halt in Marhaura, Saran district, resulted in the death of a three-year-old child, Prem Kumar, on Friday morning. Two other children were injured in the incident and are currently receiving treatment.

The incident occurred when Prem Kumar, son of Pawan Kumar from Tedha village, along with Ambika Kumari (4 years old), daughter of Deepak Kumar, and a third child, were playing near the railway tracks close to their home. A Patliputra Express train, heading towards Patna, passed through the area. Prem Kumar was hit by the train and died on the spot. Ambika Kumari sustained severe injuries to one of her legs, while the third child suffered injuries after being thrown away by the impact of the train.

Family members immediately rushed the injured children to Marhaura Sub-Divisional Hospital. Dr. Viresh Kumar, the hospital in-charge, declared Prem Kumar dead. Ambika Kumari is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the entire village.
