Bihar Road Construction Minister E. Shailendra has issued a stern warning to officials regarding the safety of the Raghupur embankment. He stated that if the embankment is damaged by floods due to negligence, the jobs of the responsible officials could be on the line. On Friday, Minister Shailendra inspected the Raghupur-Kazikauraiya embankment and reviewed the ongoing protection works in the erosion-affected areas.

The Minister explicitly instructed officials to deploy geo-bags on a war footing to prevent erosion. A target of installing approximately 25,000 geo-bags has been set for the next two days, along with larger mega geo-bags to effectively control erosion. He warned that any negligence in the rescue work would not be tolerated. If any laxity is found, not only will action be taken, but a thorough investigation of the entire work and the concerned officials will also be conducted.

Officials informed the Minister that the river's course has changed, leading to rapid silt deposition in the affected area. In response, the Minister directed that protection work be made more effective based on the advice of technical experts. He urged all agencies to work 24 hours a day in coordination, ensuring the availability of adequate lighting, machinery, geo-bags, and other necessary resources. During the inspection, villagers appealed to the Minister to strengthen the embankment to protect Raghupur village from floods. Executive Engineer Gautam Kumar, Chief Engineer Jaiprakash Paswan, and other officials were present during the inspection.
