East Central Railway has completed significant upgrades on the Mokama-Rampur Dumra rail section within the Danapur division to enhance operational efficiency and line capacity. This includes the commissioning of three new electronic interlockings, two level crossing gate interlockings, and automatic signaling works. These improvements were finalized on Saturday along the approximately 13-kilometer stretch.

The new electronic interlockings commissioned at Tal, Hathidah, and Rampur Dumra on the Mokama-Rampur Dumra section are expected to boost train operational efficiency and reliability, while also strengthening railway safety. The interlocking of two level crossing gates will ensure safer movement of both rail and road traffic at these crossings. Furthermore, the completion of the automatic signaling work will increase train operating capacity, allowing for better utilization of line capacity and improved operational management.

In related developments, Shri Guru Prakash, Commissioner of Railway Safety, Eastern Circle, Kolkata, conducted an inspection on Saturday of the new rail bridge built parallel to the Rajendra Bridge, along with the electrification and doubling work. This two-day inspection was scheduled for October 3rd and 4th. On the first day, October 3rd, the Commissioner surveyed the rail section via a motor trolley. The detailed inspection covered the main bridge (eastern line) between Rajendra Bridge and Hathidah Upper, extending to the new Viaduct-1 (Howrah end) between Hathidah Upper and Rampur Dumra. Senior officials, including Chief Administrative Officer (Construction-South) Rajiv Gupta and Divisional Railway Manager (Danapur) Vinod Kumar, from the construction organization, IRCON, and the division, were present during the inspection. The commencement of freight and passenger train operations on this new bridge is anticipated to increase the speed and capacity of rail traffic in the surrounding areas and play a crucial role in connecting North and South Bihar.
