A key distribution program was organized on Thursday at the block headquarters auditorium in Patahi, Motihari district, for beneficiaries who have completed their homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Block Development Officer (BDO) Uday Kumar handed over keys to their newly constructed houses to more than two dozen rural beneficiaries.

Addressing the program, BDO Uday Kumar stated that the government is operating the housing scheme with the objective of providing pucca houses to poor and needy families. Under the scheme, sanctioned beneficiaries are provided funds for house construction according to a defined process. He appealed to the beneficiaries to complete the construction work with quality and make proper use of government funds. The BDO also informed that the construction of sanctioned houses under the housing scheme in the block area is being continuously monitored.

Kumar emphasized that beneficiaries who have completed their houses are being provided with keys on a priority basis after completing the necessary procedures. He instructed the concerned staff that there should be no negligence in ensuring eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of the scheme. He added that the main objective of the housing scheme is to provide safe and pucca housing to economically weaker and needy families, freeing them from the problem of living in कच्चा houses or in the open. The block administration is regularly reviewing the progress of the scheme and resolving issues encountered during construction. A large number of beneficiaries, public representatives, and concerned block staff were present at the key distribution event. Beneficiaries expressed that a pucca house was their long-standing dream, which has been fulfilled through this government scheme.
