Four individuals have died in Patna district's Barh sub-division after consuming spurious liquor. The incident occurred in Bedhna village, under the Shahri police station jurisdiction. According to villagers, on Sunday around 10-11 AM, the four young men were having a liquor party. Shortly after consuming the alcohol, they began frothing at the mouth and their health rapidly deteriorated.

The villagers immediately rushed them to a local hospital. After initial treatment, seeing their critical condition, they were referred to NMCH (Nalanda Medical College and Hospital) in Patna. All four succumbed during treatment at NMCH. The deceased have been identified as Shashi Kumar (32), Vikas Ram (40), Pankaj Singh (45), and Nishu Kumar (30), all residents of Bedhna village.

Liquor bottles, empty tetra packs, and some snacks were recovered from the scene, confirming that they were consuming alcohol there. Following the incident, enraged villagers blocked the Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama four-lane road and protested against the administration.

Rural SP Kundan Kumar arrived at the scene and stated that the bodies are being sent for post-mortem examination, and further action will be taken after the report. Dr. Shreya Shekhar of the sub-divisional hospital also confirmed that three youths were brought in frothing at the mouth and were referred to Patna due to their critical condition. Barh SDO Krishna Joshi mentioned that the exact cause of death would only be clear after the post-mortem report. SDPO and SDO are currently at the spot, trying to pacify the villagers and clear the road, but the villagers are demanding action against those responsible.
