A large racket involved in creating fake experience certificates for jobs in Gulf countries has been exposed in Patna. The Vaishali Travels Consultancy Service was operating this fraudulent scheme, providing individuals with fake experience certificates claiming five to six years of work experience after just two to three days of training. The Gandhi Maidan police raided the office of Vaishali Travels Consultancy Service on the fifth floor of Chandi Vyapar Bhawan on Exhibition Road on Saturday.

During the raid, police recovered 118 passports belonging to individuals from Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and other states. They also seized fake experience certificates prepared in the name of various organizations, pathology test booklets, counterfeit interview letters, three laptops, one CPU, five mobile phones, and 1.44 lakh rupees in cash, along with Riyals, Dirhams, and other foreign currencies. Three accused, Tanveer Alam, Shahid Anwar, and Tausif Alam, were arrested on the spot and subsequently sent to jail.

Investigations revealed that the gang used the names of reputable companies like Barauni Petrochemical and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to create these forged experience certificates. Individuals lacking technical experience were given short training sessions of two to three days for roles such as plumbers, fitters, electricians, and then prepared for overseas employment. The gang also collaborated with other groups to procure fake certificates bearing signatures and seals of company officials. Numerous fake certificates were found on the seized laptops and mobile phones.

Police sources suggest that several other individuals might be involved in this scam besides the three arrested. These individuals would even alter the names and addresses of job aspirants to create new hard copies. The police are now thoroughly investigating this aspect and trying to identify who was responsible for preparing the fake signatures and seals on the certificates. The gang used social media and other methods to advertise job opportunities in Gulf countries, enticing people to their office and extorting money from them under the pretext of preparing necessary documents. Details of all seized passports will be compiled and sent to the passport office for verification, and their addresses will be verified through the respective state police forces.
