Patna: Uncle Murders Nephew with 6 Bullets Over Illicit Affair and Land Dispute
A shocking incident has come to light in Phulwarisharif, Patna, where an uncle allegedly shot and killed his 30-year-old nephew, Deepak Kumar, with six bullets. The accused uncle, Lalan Sharma, fled the scene after committing the crime. Police have detained Lalan's wife, Shobha Devi, and their daughter for questioning.
According to family members, a family dispute had been ongoing for the past four years. Deepak's family alleges that Lalan Sharma had an illicit relationship with Deepak's wife, which Deepak strongly opposed. This led to frequent arguments and mutual threats. The accused's wife, Shobha Devi, also informed the police that her husband was the one who shot Deepak.
The incident occurred around 7 AM on Tuesday when Deepak was sitting at home with a friend. Lalan Sharma arrived with a pistol, and an argument ensued. As the dispute escalated, Lalan opened fire, shooting Deepak six times in the head, legs, thighs, and stomach. Deepak died on the spot. The accused fled immediately after the shooting.
Deepak's father, Vindhyachal Sharma, stated that Lalan Sharma and his son-in-law, Ravi, conspired to murder his son. He also accused Lalan, a builder, of fraudulently transferring a valuable roadside plot of land from Deepak and his wife's name to his own. The land dispute is believed to be a major motive behind the murder. Villagers reported that Deepak was the only son of his parents and had three young children. He was struggling financially, working as an auto driver or a laborer to support his family.
