Employees of Phulparas Nagar Panchayat have commenced an indefinite strike from Thursday, following a call by the Bihar Local Bodies Employees Federation and Bihar State Local Government Employees Federation Joint Struggle Front. The strike involves sanitation workers and various other categories of employees, leading to significant disruption in the urban area's sanitation system.

The striking workers have put forth three main demands. These include the regularization of daily wage workers, ensuring their service security, abolishing contract and outsourcing systems, implementing equal pay for equal work, and the immediate payment of their pending dues. The employees state that they have been appealing to the government for these demands for a long time, but their pleas have gone unheard.

The workers have made it clear that the indefinite strike will continue until the government takes a positive decision on their demands and fulfills them. They emphasized that this movement is a crucial step to protect their rights and interests.

Numerous employees, including Pappu Kumar Yadav, Mohammad Alam, Omprakash, Raman Kumar, Kanhaiya Kumar Yadav, Pappu Kumar Yadav (II), Kailash Kumar Paswan, Shilakant Vishwas, Ganesh Kumar Yadav, Suresh Kumar Kamat, Golu Kumar Rawat, Gangesh Mishra, Sakal Kumar, and Balram Kumar, are participating in the strike. Their unity and determination reflect their commitment to getting their demands met. Piles of garbage have started accumulating in the Nagar Panchayat area, causing inconvenience to local residents.
