Brahampur, Buxar: Registration for the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has commenced in Brahampur block with special camps starting this Monday. Block Development Officer (BDO) Sonu Kumar announced this on Saturday at the block office. The scheme aims to alleviate the burden of rising electricity bills on consumers and promote the use of solar energy in homes.

Under this initiative, eligible beneficiaries will receive a grant of up to ₹98,000, jointly provided by the central and state governments. This financial assistance is designed to encourage people to install solar systems on their rooftops for electricity generation. Promotional materials also highlight a 25-year performance warranty on solar systems from leading brands, offering an additional benefit to consumers.

Once installed, a significant portion of a household's electricity needs will be met by solar energy, reducing reliance on conventional power and leading to lower electricity bills.

Consumers interested in registering must bring essential documents to the camp, including their Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank passbook, a photocopy of their current electricity bill, a photograph of their rooftop, mobile number, and email ID. BDO Sonu Kumar has urged all interested electricity consumers to visit the camps, which began on Monday, and take advantage of this important scheme. The commencement of these camps in Brahampur provides an opportunity for families keen on adopting solar energy to move towards generating their own electricity from their rooftops.
