In a significant move against illegal sand mining and transportation, police in the Chakand police station area, under Belaganj sub-district in Gaya district, seized two sand-laden tractors. The action was taken on Saturday as part of a special drive launched under the directives of the Senior Superintendent of Police.

Chakand SHO Shivam Kumar stated that the police had been receiving continuous intelligence regarding clandestine illegal sand transportation in the area. Following the confirmation of this information, a police team conducted a swift raid, leading to the seizure of the tractors. The SHO emphasized that the police are consistently taking action to curb illegal mining activities and are committed to cracking down on those involved.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Chakand police station under case number 232/26, and further legal proceedings are underway. The operation aims to control illegal sand trade and prevent environmental damage.
