Bihar's Rural Development Minister, Shravan Kumar, has addressed the issue, assuring a high-level inquiry into the matter.

Minister Shravan Kumar stated that the drying of Rajgir's hot springs is a grave problem, and the government is taking it with utmost seriousness. Speaking to the media, he announced that a team of experts would be formed to identify the root causes of the issue. He also mentioned that the investigation would ascertain whether the phenomenon is due to natural factors or human intervention. The Minister emphasized the importance of Rajgir's hot springs, highlighting their significance not only as a tourist attraction but also for their religious and medicinal value. Millions of devotees and tourists visit these springs, believed to cure various ailments.

Prominent hot springs in Rajgir include Brahmakund, Saptadhara, and Makdoom Kund. Water levels in these springs have been consistently declining, and now, several streams have completely dried up, an unprecedented situation. Locals suspect illegal mining, excessive groundwater extraction, and nearby construction activities as potential contributing factors. Following Minister Shravan Kumar's assurance, there is hope that a solution will be found soon to restore the former glory of Rajgir's hot springs.
