A significant initiative for environmental protection and greenery is being undertaken in Ramgarh Chowk this monsoon season. Under the 'Ji Ram Ji Yojana', a total of 19,200 saplings will be planted in the Ramgarh Chowk area. This scheme is being implemented jointly by the Rural Development Department, MGNREGA, and Jeevika, with the primary objective of enhancing greenery in rural areas and creating employment opportunities.

Under this scheme, each panchayat in Ramgarh Chowk has a target of 12 units of tree plantation. Each unit will involve planting 100 saplings, totaling 1200 saplings per panchayat. Thus, covering 16 panchayats across the Ramgarh Chowk area, a total target of 19,200 saplings has been set. This initiative will not only benefit the environment but also provide employment to local residents.

The wages for MGNREGA laborers involved in tree plantation have also been increased. They will now receive ₹300 per workday, an increase from the previous rate. This increment aims to improve the living standards of laborers and encourage their active participation. The saplings to be planted will include fruit-bearing, shade-giving, and medicinal plants, chosen to be suitable for the local climate and soil.

The scheme will be implemented through Gram Panchayats, with Jeevika Didis also playing an active role in planting, caring for, and conserving the saplings. This initiative is expected to enhance greenery, improve groundwater levels, prevent soil erosion, and conserve biodiversity. Local administration has directed all concerned departments to work together for the successful implementation of this scheme.
