A private security guard was shot dead in broad daylight outside the SP's residence in Chatra, Jharkhand, on Tuesday, causing a stir in the city. The accused, identified as Balveer Singh, a jawan from the Bihar Police's district force, allegedly shot his fellow private guard, Atul Singh.

The incident occurred in front of the Chatra SP's residence, leading to chaos in the area. Police promptly detained the accused jawan, Balveer Singh. During the investigation, a Ford Endeavour car parked near the crime scene was also seized. This vehicle reportedly belongs to Rocky Yadav, a resident of Gaya and owner of Ramia Construction, which is undertaking bypass construction work in Chatra. The shooter, Balveer Singh, is not Rocky Yadav's personal guard but a government-appointed bodyguard for Rocky's mother, MLA Manorama Devi.

Rocky Yadav is the son of Gaya Belaganj MLA Manorama Devi from Bihar. He was previously accused of murder in a road rage incident during the Aditya Sachdeva murder case, though he was later acquitted by the court.

Preliminary investigations suggest that old animosity between Balveer and Atul was the motive behind the latest incident. Both had accompanied Rocky Yadav to Chatra. An argument reportedly broke out between them over a request for 'khaini' (tobacco), leading the government guard to fire two shots inside Rocky Yadav's Ford Endeavour car, one of which fatally struck Atul Singh. Police are also investigating how a government bodyguard assigned to an MLA was present with her son in Jharkhand with his service weapon. Questions are being raised about the government guard's presence with the MLA's son in Chatra.

Following instructions from SP Animesh Naithani, the Sadar Thana police took action. Senior police officials, including Simaria SDPO and Tandwa SDPO, visited the scene. The police have seized the government guard's rifle.
