In Sheohar district, the District Transport Officer (DTO) launched an intensive vehicle checking drive to ensure compliance with road safety and traffic rules. During this campaign, strict action was taken against drivers violating traffic regulations, resulting in the collection of fines totaling ₹89,000. This action underscores the administration's seriousness about enforcing rules.

The primary objective of the drive was to increase awareness among people regarding traffic rules and to reduce road accidents. The DTO stated that many drivers were found operating vehicles without helmets, seatbelts, with overloading, or with incomplete vehicle documents. Fines were imposed in all such cases under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Officials clarified that this campaign would continue regularly to maintain road safety standards in the district. They appealed to vehicle drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules for their own safety and the safety of others. Specifically, the use of helmets and seatbelts was emphasized as mandatory. Additionally, drivers were urged to carry all necessary vehicle documents such as driving license, registration certificate, pollution control certificate, and insurance.

This enforcement action is crucial not only for revenue collection but also for promoting a culture of road safety. The administration believes that such campaigns will foster a sense of responsibility among people and lead to a reduction in road accidents.
