Shivhar Nagar Parishad has announced accelerated progress on housing, road, drainage, sanitation, and urban beautification projects. During a press conference at the Nagar Parishad office on Friday, Chairman Rajan Nandan Singh detailed the council's achievements and future plans. He stated that before 2021, a total of 4400 housing units were allocated under the housing scheme, with 700 returned and 3700 remaining. By 2021, 1118 beneficiaries had received full housing payments, a number that has now increased to 3122.

Under the new housing scheme 2.0, 241 individuals have received homes in the first phase, while 2919 families have had their housing applications approved in the second phase. This includes 540 families from the general category, 1592 from OBC, 783 from SC, and four from ST. The agreement process with approved beneficiaries is set to commence on September 15, 2026.

The Chairman also announced that the construction of the crucial Jagdish Nandan Singh Path is targeted for completion before Durga Puja. Additionally, the city's first 'Nagar Van' park will be developed on land provided by the District Magistrate near the jail. The Nagar Parishad also plans to develop Pichhiyari Pokhar as a model tourist destination, aiming to make it an example for neighboring districts.

Over the past three years, several roads, including Nandlal Gali, Vidya Vihar Road, Khadi Bhandar Road, Mahila Thana Road, Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir Road, and BRC Road, have been improved. Drainage projects, including Sundarpur Main Drain, Daud Chhapra Main Drain, and Islampur-Chiknauta Drain, have also seen progress. The Nagar Parishad will hold 'Janta Darbar' on the second Thursday of every month starting October, and 'Jan Sahyog Shivir' every Friday to address public grievances.
